I design and deliver programmes that give leaders the tools, the clarity and the capability to build teams where people and performance thrive.
Throughout my leadership career, creating the conditions for success became a bit of an obsession. It turns out the obsession was justified.
Teams in the top quartile for engagement are 23% more profitable and 18% more productive than those at the bottom, and they lose far fewer people. And the biggest single factor? The quality of their management, which accounts for around 70% of the variance in how engaged a team is.
I have run this work in manufacturing, retail, hospitality, FMCG and education, with groups ranging from small teams to full senior leadership teams.
So I work with clients on three things.
Every team is different. I start by understanding where this team's problems and opportunities actually sit, because a programme designed for a team that doesn't exist helps nobody.
The behaviours, the trust and the psychological safety that the research consistently links to how teams perform. Not theory for its own sake, but the things that move the needle.
The most important part. I use profiling tools to build self-awareness and dialogue between people, never to label them. Awareness and intervention, along with forming new habits, is where behaviour genuinely shifts.
We engaged Kayleigh Basford Consulting to provide bespoke leadership development for our senior leadership team, and the impact has been clear. Kayleigh has helped us strengthen our working relationships, build trust and have more open conversations. We can already see the difference in how we work together and look forward to continuing our partnership as we develop leadership across the school.
We booked Kayleigh to run sessions with our team and invited her back for further sessions. The team loved them and the impact carries into how we work every day. … They now raise issues directly and work through disagreements while feeling safe to speak openly. Problems that would once have come back to me are increasingly resolved between the people involved, with more ownership, better communication and more energy going into their work.
I asked her to support me locally in running a series of service design training sessions in Qatar. Her level of expertise coupled with natural ability to lead people through these sessions was of exceptional quality. I have continued to lean on Kayleigh for ad-hoc advice and assistance since; she has always made herself available to both myself and my team.
Every engagement starts with people: what they're experiencing, what they need, and what's really getting in the way. If you want change that genuinely embeds and continues well beyond our formal work together, that is the only place to start.
Which is why programmes run as a series of sessions over months rather than a single day. Awareness on its own rarely changes behaviour. Between sessions people practise, and we come back to what actually happened.
Let's talk about where your team is now and what would make the biggest difference.
Leadership programmes run as a series, usually three to four sessions across a year, with coaching in between.
